MISSION STATEMENT
The AAB hears appeals of property tax assessments and, for each appeal, either upholds the current assessment or changes the assessment based on the facts presented during the hearing in order to equalize the property tax roll.

- MEMBERSHIP A person shall not be eligible for appointment unless he has a minimum of five years professional experience in the State of California as one of the following: certified public accountant or public accountant, licensed real estate broker or an attorney
- TERMS 3 years, generally serve no more than 12-years unless appointed by the Board of Supervisors
- DUTIES To equalize the local tax roll by determining the correct full value for the property that is the subject of the hearing

- COMPENSATION $300 per meeting
